Heated Lower Platen

The heated lower platen, from Hotronix, improves user friendliness, print quality and reduces errors, according to the company. Bottom-platen heat allows for a lower application temperature on the top platen, which can reduce scorching on heat-sensitive fabrics like polyester and performancewear. It also helps melt adhesive from the bottom, reducing production time. Adhesive-backed decorations receive heat where it’s most needed to firmly bond it to the product. Less pressure is required, which means that even 3-D and die-cast emblems retain their full dimension, according to the company. The heated lower platen comes in a 16″ x 20″ size and is compatible with Hotronix or Maxx clam-shell presses.
