S&S Activewear Celebrates 30-Year Anniversary

S&S Activewear, Bolingbrook, Ill., marked 30 years of operation this April.

Since it’s humble beginnings as a single warehouse in Addison, Ill., the company has expanded to more than 3 million square feet of warehouse space and 1,400 employees across the United States.


From day one, the provider of imprintable apparel has held firmly to the core mission of serving its community and customers, vendors and employees.

“From our most valued customers to our newest employees, we value every member of our community,” says Jeff Adams, co-owner, S&S Activewear. “Creating relationships and having fun will always lie at the heart of our company culture.”

The S&S Activewear team has seen tremendous growth as a result of its people-first approach, according to the company. It now operates facilities in Illinois, Kansas, New Jersey, California, Texas and Georgia, providing one-day shipping times to most of the country.

In addition to its anniversary, this month also marks the opening of S&S’s sixth distribution center in McDonough, Ga. The new location allows the company to expand its one-day shipping to the Southeast.

“The S&S team truly demonstrated its operational prowess and dedication to its customers by getting our Texas and Georgia facilities up and running in less than a year,” says Jim Shannon, president, S&S Activewar. “No matter what corner of the country our customers are based in, S&S will meet them where they are.”

S&S Activewear was founded in 1988 as a provider of imprintable apparel for wholesale customers. Since then, the team has developed an extensive collection of basic garments and fashion-forward styles for its nation-spanning customer base.
