DecoNetwork CEO Resigns

Neil Pentland, CEO of Australia-based DecoNetwork, was arrested June 27 and charged with the murder of his former business partner, Philip Carlyle, 20 years ago.

Pentland has resigned his position with the company. DecoNetwork chairman David Merson released the following statement:

“On Tuesday, June 27, Neil Pentland, the CEO of DecoNetwork, was arrested and charged for a murder which occurred 20 years ago, prior to the foundation of DecoNetwork.

Mr. Pentland maintains his innocence of any involvement in the matter. Mr. Pentland has resigned from his position of CEO of DecoNetwork.


DecoNetwork is owned by a broad range of investors and these events will have no impact on the operations and financial stability of the company.

DecoNetwork has a deep and wide base of experience in the information technology and apparel decoration industries. Current Global Operations Manager Adam Pentland will be assuming the role of CEO effective immediately.”

Pentland appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on June 27. His lawyer, Andrew Moloney, made no application for bail an the case is adjourned until July 13. Pentland’s wife, Diane, also has been charged with making a misleading statement, and will appear in a Brisbane court next month, according to The Courier Mail.

Brenden Prazner, product manager and evangelist, DecoNetwork, says neither Pentland nor Golden Orb Technologies, of which Pentland is sole director, have any holdings in DecoNetwork, and that none of DecoNetwork’s assets are at risk.
