Aaron Draplin Tapped to Speak at THREADX 2019

Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA)Fairfax, Va.,has announced graphic designer Aaron Draplin, owner and founder of Draplin Design Co., will present two sessions at the THREADX 2019 conference, to be held Feb. 17-19 in San Diego.

Draplin is known in the garment-decoration and graphic-arts industries for the unique designs, logos and ideas that he has illustrated for worldwide brands such as Target, Patagonia and Wired, according to the company.

“Aaron has a unique inspirational perspective,” says Sarah Perkins, SGIA’s director of community development. “His work is a balance of simplicity and creativity and he brings that balance to his message as well. His presence at THREADX is very exciting for us, as well as for the attendees that get to see him at work.”

The first of Draplin’s presentations will be a hands-on design workshop, taking place Feb. 17, for 35 early registrants. The second, a presentation of “Things that Don’t Have a Thing to Do with Graphic Design,” will be held Feb. 18.


“Aaron’s sessions will provide THREADX attendees new insight into graphic decoration and design through his unique eye,” Perkins says. “You won’t want to miss the chance to see first-hand what makes Aaron such an engaging personality in this industry.”

In addition to Draplin, other featured speakers will include Brian Adam (Olympus Group), who will give a presentation on how to improve employee engagement; Benny Gold (Benny Gold), who will deliver the closing keynote; and emcee Ricardo Crespo (th13teen).
