Colman and Co., Tampa, Fla., has released a new stock embroidery design product called PatchKit Borders.
Colman and Co. invented the PatchKit more than four years ago in order to help embroidery supply customers create iron-on or heat-press patches in low volumes. The line, which includes PatchKit Duo and PatchKit-HP, allows embroiderers to create patches using special patch and heat-seal glue material, and a hot knife to seal the edges. This system makes it possible, and profitable, for shops to offer clients iron- or heat press-on patches as needed, according to the company.
With the newly added PatchKit Borders Volume 1, users also can get a head start on the patch frames or border stitches. The Borders CD comes with embroidery files in three sizes of the company’s 12 most requested shapes: rectangle, rectangle with rounded corners, circle, oval, diamond, square, square with rounded corners, triangle, octagon, name tag, name tag with rounded corners and heart. The designs are provided as .dst files.
With PatchKit Borders, users can open the desired shape and size of the patch in their current embroidery software, and then fill in the name, company information or logo to fit within. The proper satin stitch border already will be completed.
