American & Efird (A&E), Mount Holly, N.C., recently announced the official launch of REPEL, an advanced, PFC-free, water repellency enhancement that can be applied to its global sewing-thread brands.
A&E’s Perma Core, D-Core, Wildcat Plus, Perma Spun and Excell product lines, as well as other apparel and non-apparel thread, and specialty-yarn products, are compatible with the new water-repellent option. REPEL will not affect product color and is optimal for athletic wear, backpacks, footwear, uniforms and workwear, according to the company.
“As a trusted partner, we work very closely with our customers to understand and anticipate current and future needs, offering the very best sewing-thread and specialty-yarn products in the marketplace,” says Chris Alt, senior vice president of sales, A&E. “REPEL is an example of smart innovation as A&E continues to expand the boundaries of what performance sewing threads can do through the development of advanced and thoughtful products.” — D.S.
