Roland DGA Introduces New Dye-Sublimation Printer

November 20, 2015

Roland DGA Corp., Irvine, Calif., has launched the 64-inch Texart XT-640, a high-volume, dye-sublimation printer designed for the textile printing industry.

The XT-640 is ideal for creating fashion and sports apparel. With its printhead technology, reinforced rail and frame structure, and precise ink drop placement, the XT-640 delivers vibrant, colorful sublimated prints at speeds of up to 1,098 square feet per hour, according to the company. It also features a new feed adjuster at the front of the printer designed to ensure even tensioning and prevent skewing of the media.

The printer also includes the ErgoSoft Roland Edition RIP; the Roland ink system, which uses one-liter ink pouches to facilitate uninterrupted long-run printing; an ink switch system that automatically switches to the backup ink pouch when the primary pouch empties; and the Roland Printer Assist iPad app, which allows users to check printing status from anywhere.

The XT-640 printer costs $29,995 and is available through authorized Roland dealers.
