Roland Customers Win Golden Image Awards at SGIA 2015

Roland DGA Corp., Irvine, Calif., has announced that its customers won four SGIA Golden Image Awards at the Specialty Graphics Imaging Association (SGIA) 2015 Expo, held this past Nov. 4-6 in Atlanta.

The SGIA Golden Image Awards celebrate industry-leading excellence and encompass a range of categories that illustrate products and services made possible by specialty imaging technologies. This year’s winning entries were selected from hundreds of submissions by a team of imaging professionals who awarded gold, silver and bronze ribbons for the best prints.

The following Roland customer businesses received 2015 Golden Image Awards recognition:

Company: Photographic Works
Title: Ocean and Water Prints on Metal
Entry Description: Tucson, Arizona-based Photographic Works used a Roland Texart RT-640 dye-sublimation printer to create a series of sublimated photographic prints on metal, all centered on ocean and water themes.

Company: Gamut Media
Title: Gfunk and Funk Legends/Star Trek vs. Star Wars
Entry Description: Gamut Media created colorful wall graphics spanning up to 20 feet in length, featuring a variety of funk music legends as well as a “Star Trek vs. Star Wars” mashup for rapper Snoop Dogg. The graphics were printed on a Roland VersaCAMM VS-640i wide-format printer/cutter.

Title:  Casino Room: Las Vegas Gangster Mural/Blue Las Vegas
Entry Description: Gamut Media used its Roland VersaCAMM VS-640i printer/cutter to transform a casino room into a work of art featuring a gangster mural and Las Vegas photos for rapper Snoop Dogg.

Title: Monster Ear Piece Cover and Head Band Decal Print
Entry Description: Cascade Graphics in Bend, Ore., used its Roland VersaUV LEC-330 UV printer/cutter to print directly on Monster headphone earpiece covers and decals.
