M&R, Roselle, Ill. announced the addition of the DigiTone halftone filter to its M-Link line of direct-to-garment (DTG) printers.
DTG printers typically use dithering, which creates smoother color transitions than the halftone method used in four-color process screen printing. The DigiTone halftone filter ensures prints will be as close as possible to screen-printed images when M-Link printers are used for prepress testing, according to the company.
DigiTone also allows the option of digitally decorating garments with screen-printing effects like simulated processed prints. The operator also can select the dot size and angle where the amplitude-modulated halftone dots appear. — M.Q.
