FULL STORYEpson America Inc., Long Beach, Calif., will hold its third-annual Digital Couture Project event on Feb. 7 as a precursor to New York’s Fashion Week.
Centered on a “Textile Stories” theme, 13 design teams from North and Latin America will leverage Epson’s textile-printing solutions in a fashion presentation that will showcase the design possibilities that can be accomplished with the company’s digital imaging technology.
“In the high-fashion business, nothing stands still,” says Keith Kratzberg, president and CEO, Epson America Inc. “Our goal with the Digital Couture event is to spotlight the power and potential that digital printing technology plays in the apparel industry. From haute couture to sports team apparel, Epson technology give designers and apparel manufacturers the digital platform necessary to launch the next great design.”
Each designer or design team will tell a story through their collection via textiles crated with Epson dye-sublimation and direct-to-garment printing technology. Designers will represent multiple countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, the United States and more.
The technology showcase portion of the Digital Couture event will feature Minoru Usui, Epson’s global president, outlining the company’s vision for the role that digital technology will play in fashion. Also, a moderated panel of fashion and apparel-industry experts will discuss market trends and technology’s role in fashion.
The Digital Couture event also will serve as the Robustelli-Epson brand’s official introduction to the international fashion community, and will include an array of its textile samples. — J.L.
