Winning Decorators Focus on Intricate Details

The 32nd annual Impressions Awards featured a number of designs that blended intricate details, artistic talent and superior technical execution. January 25, 2011
By Danielle Cohen, Contributing Writer

This year’s Impressions Awards winners all share two common traits that are necessary for not only creating dynamic and innovative apparel designs, but also for ensuring that your customer base remains invigorated and excited about what you can offer as a decorator: attention to detail and envelope-pushing techniques.

Regardless of the economic climate of their shops — and no matter how extra hard they work to maintain business and bring in new accounts — these winners have invested time, dedication, creativity and sweat equity to achieve decorating greatness. Following are the winning designs from the more than 300 entries submitted across 15 categories. We also present a profile of the Grand Champion: Best in Show entry, submitted by Andy’s Tee Shirts Inc., Concord, Calif.

You can see this year’s winners first-hand in the Impressions booth at any of the six 2011 ISS shows.
