Xitron, Acti Cameras to Debut Screenmaker Pro RIP and Workflow at ISS Long BeachJanuary 20, 2011Xitron, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Acti Cameras Inc., Covina, Calif., will launch the Screenmaker Pro RIP and workflow for the Legend direct-to-screen systems at the ISS Long Beach Show, which takes place Jan. 21-23 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif. Screenmaker Pro drives the Legend 2800 DTS, designed for textile printers that require fast, high-quality screens; the Legend 4800 DTS, designed for graphics printers that require high-resolution screens; and the new ActiFilm Pro that produces positive and negative film for offset, flexo and screen printing, according to the company. The Screenmaker Pro workflow incorporates on-screen soft-proofing tools that allow the user to see the final processed job. In addition, users have the ability to select the substrate color and to define any color as an opaque, such as a white underbase, so jobs can be viewed accurately on colored substrates. The integrated soft-proofing viewer is adjustable from 5%-800% magnification, allowing the user to inspect the file in a processed format. Jobs can be viewed as a composite or any combination of single or multiple separations. The Screenmaker Pro RIP and workflow will be available exclusively through Acti Cameras' Legend DTS dealers, according to the company.
