SGIA to Address CPSIA Stay of Enforcement ExpirationNovember 30, 2011The Consumer Product Safety Commision's (CPSC) stay of enforcement of its Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) — which includes the testing and certification of children’s products — will expire Dec. 31. Starting Jan. 1, 2012, facilities not only will be required to comply with the lead and phthalate content limits stipulated by the act, but also must have the required testing programs in place to prove it. In a two-part webinar, the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association's (SGIA) Marci Kinter will outline the CPSIA's required testing programs, as well as discuss the required conformity certificate companies need for all children's products produced. The first webinar, titled "CPSIA Testing Programs — Who Has to Test What, and How!", will take place Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. EST. Click here to register for this webinar. The second webinar is titled "CPSIA Certification — What You Need to Do" and will take place Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. EST. Click here to register for this webinar.
