Industry Icon Labov Passes Away

Richard Labov, vice chairman of Union Ink Co. and Rutland Holdings LLC, and president of Standard Coating Corp., passed away on Nov. 17 at the age of 84.

Labov, a 1947 graduate of Yale University, dedicated his life to the screen printing industry and worked with both Standard Coating and Union Ink for more than 60 years.

“Richard will be missed by many as he was a true legend and pioneer of this industry, touching many people’s lives locally and throughout the world,” a spokesperson for
Union Ink Co. said.

He is survived by his wife, Carole, children Andrea and Daniel and six grandchildren. — M.D.
